Dude, the stingray was just doing what nature intended it to do. Cobras bite when threatened. Bears attack when their cubs are threatened. This stingray probably thought that when Steve swam over him, a shark swam over him. So the stingray did what was natural for it. It stung the "shark". You have no right to "play God" and choose which species should live or die. Stingrays have as much right to life as you do.

And by the way, this question shoudn't be under Reptiles. Stingrays aren't reptiles. They're fish. Use your brain every once in a while, or it might disappear completely.

As many have said already-Steve wouldn't WANT this at all!!!

And I don't know for sure-I'm no expert on rays, but the poor thing may already be DEAD!!! I really don't know if rays are able to regenerate a new barb~~~they certainly aren't geckos or anoles-or starfish, for that matter, so that particular ray may already be doomed.

Again-Steve wouldn't WANT revenge-he understood the risks and also understood that animals defend themselves when they feel threatened.

And it probably didn't deliberately STAB him-he may have inadvertantly swam up ONTO the barb...which we probably will never know. The police confiscated the film, and even if they get itbck, the crew have all agreed that it should never be available to the public. I hope it's burned-otherwise, idiots will be sending itall over cyberspace...and Steve, his family, friends and staff deserve much better than that.

RIP, Steve!!!

I dont think Steve would have any anger toward the stingray. If anything he would have more respect for them. His death gave the world a lesson in the fact that any wild animal can be dangerous. People swim with stingrays every day and they are not thought of as something that will kill you

How about everyone just gets over this whole thing? Its getting really annoying and Im sick of hearing about it. Yes, a man died. Yes, it was sad, but just drop it already. How do you think the family feels being constantly reminded that he isnt there anymore?

Not to mention, thats just rude. You shouldnt kill all the animals, heck you shouldnt even kill the one that did that to him. He messed around with animals, he was going to die or get seriously injured sooner or later.

Although steve was killed by a stingray, he would never want anyone to kill an animal. He used to protect them, but after what happened I really feel that I want to kill that Stingray!!

Well, it's just a matter of survival of the fittest isn't it? This time the stingray won.

Crikity, lets go, mate. Steve wouldn't want us to do that though, he loved all critters, sadly enough, he loved life itsself as well. Words just doesn't touch how his death makes me feel.
