It depends how you define soon.
If you mean this week then not very likely no.
If you are asking is our planet due a big one then yeah it is. But that could still be measured in millions of years as easily as within another few months.
That ones in Gods hands I'm afraid.

In galactic terms, it is true (by probability)
In terms of human years, it could happen any time but is improbable for the next hundred years or so.

In real terms: we don't know, for we don't know all the objects heading towards sun. There are for sure some or more, we just didn't discover yet, because small rocks or chunks of ice are just dark and can only hardly be discovered.
So, it can happen at any time.

But if you are talking about an object from the asteroid belt, then it is very unlikely we would be hit soon, because all these objects are in a stable orbit around the sun.

they hit the earth all the time in the form of falling stars. those asteroids are too small to pass earths atmosphere so they burn up. It's been quite a while since we had a significant asteroid hit the earth. The largest we know of fell in Siberia in the 1920's. If ever a killer asteroid would be coming our way chances are we would only find out when it would be too late to react.

tiny asteroids are hitting the Earth every second, however,if your reffering to a large asteroid, then no.The next asteroid that is predicted to hit it won't come till 2029,and by then we will have the technology to deflect it.

no, that's just another round of garbage spread around by idle gossipers with minds too small to think and tongues too big to stop yapping. Earth gets hit by space debree constantly, but nothing major, and nothing is in the way of hitting us for at least nest 1000 yrs.. everything has already been calculated and recalculated to see what paths they take and what's out there..

No. There may be a close pass by one in about 25 years but it won't hit.

I assume you are talking about the following.

It will not hit but it actually may throw some satellites out of orbit.
