There is no way to perfectly seperate the music and the vocals without causing considerable distortion unless the audio file is recorded in a very specific way and format with the singer's voice at the centre and everything else such as the background music panned to the left, right and around it. As this isn't really the case with most standard songs on a CD or such media, nothing capable of that comes to mind. Then again I could be wrong, this is just what I know. It is seperating the 'residual noise' from the track that is the difficult part and there is always some degree of nonsense noise on any standard music file.

There is however, now that I think about it a winamp plugin (ofcourse Winamp required/ winamp player not hard to find - www.download.com) = the plugin is called "Centre Cut". I can't find the link myself at the moment but that name alone should give you enough to put in the Yahoo/Google search engine. It is apparently vouched for by many people who claim its among the best for seperating vocals from music files. But I stress, do not be dissapointed with limited or even 'no' results using the 'Centre Cut, Winamp Plugin'/ the way the track is set out makes it difficult to seperate the noise from the vocals.
