I think heredity and outside elements play the biggest role. I break out from drinking too much orange juice and hairspray getting on my face. I think it is the acid not the sugar because I sure eat alot of sweet chocolate and I am fine. Maybe your pop is too acidic or too citrus like what the orange juice did to me? I think the citric acid messed w/my pH causing that chemical reaction.

No, no food has been found to make your skin break out. Hormones, bacteria and clogged pores make your skin break out. I had acne for a lot of years and tried everything including the expensive stuff the sell on TV. Finally I fixed it by taking oral antibiotics to kill the bacteria, then taking an oral contraceptive for the hormone problem and then doing scrubs and masks for the pores. Finally after a few months, I stopped the antibiotics but continued the other stuff and the acne stayed away. Now i'm off all the oral medication and I'm just doing the scrubs and it's still under control.

I don't think there is any real proof that it makes your skin break out. Skin infections and a decrease in certain hormones can though.
If you notice that only when you drink coke that you break out, stop and see what happens.

They used to say it does, due to the sugar content. Honestly I think a healthy diet and regular cleansing (of your face) will keep break outs at bay! A great skin care product can be found at:
