I am 39 weeks pregnant and I have had this constant headache. Tylenol doesn't help and neither does sleep. Does anyone know how I can get rid of it or what is causing it? I have no stress and I am very calm even knowing I can go into labor at any time! I just want the headache to go away!

Well when I was pregnant I use to get headaches aswell and my husband would massage my head all over till I feel asleep and it was great. So a great head massage would do it.

A lack of water could cause headaches. I would make sure I'm drinking TONS of water. Keep yourself hydrated. Too much sleep can bring on headaches. Fresh air always helps. Tylenol. Not sure what else to tell you. I know when I was pregnant, the last half I had this sinus headache I couldn't do anything about. Lasted up till long after I had the baby..LOL This is probably no help, drink lots of water.

In my last month, I had frequent sinus headaches. Believe it or not, this is what would help me. Get some of the Listerine regular mint pocket pack breath strips. Then stick one on the roof of your mouth, close your mouth and breathe through your nose as much as you can. The strong mint would really open up my sinuses and release the pressure causing my headaches for a while. It may or may not work for you, but it is inexpensive and won't hurt you or the baby to try. If your headaches are severe, you may want to get your blood pressure checked to make sure that it is not a sign of preeclampsia. And, of course, just like everyone else says, drink as much water as you can tolerate. Don't overdo it, but the increased hydration can help with your headaches.

Best of luck! And hang in there, it won't be too much longer!

Excedrin, it's the only thing that helps my headache. A cool/cold cloth across your eyes may help as well. Naps are ok, but may leave you feeling disoriented. Try testing different foods, salt tends to help mine. Strange but true - sometimes pressing on either side of your head can relieve the pain. It also sounds like it could be from poor vision or a sinus headache. From your name, I'm guessing you're male (however if you're not and doctors can't find anything wrong with you, go to an OB/GYN, sounds stupid but you'd be amazed...)

As a constant headache sufferer I've got plenty of remedies. Try using cool cloths placed at the back of your neck. What you probably have is a dialation of the blood vessels and what that does is increase the flow to your brain and cause pain. The cool cloth (or better yet, one of those gel filled units that tie around your head and when moistened with cool water stay cool for a longtime), slows the flow of blood back to normal and lessens the pressure.

Try staying away from food with red dyes. Orange cheeses, candies and especially red wine (hope your not drinking it anyway, preggers and all). Take your folic acid supplements and drink lots of cool (not cold)water. Things should start looking up soon.

Hope you feel better quick!

Try sex. I know it sounds wierd, but when I was pg I had lots of headaches and the only thing that made it go away was sex. The release of hormones and stuff does it every time.

Rub a little peppermint oil into your temples and take a little benadryl. I suffer from rare migraines and when my meds don't work, this does.

Probalby your hormones especially since you're so close. Well, at least it's almost over :)
