2x+5=3x

Get the Xs on the same side of the = sign: subtract 2x from each side.

5 = 1x

X obviously = 5 Get it?

I think your question is to solve for x.

You have to isolate for x (i.e. group like items together so your equation ultimately reads x= ???)

To do this you would take the equation and move the x's to the same side as follows:

2x + 5 = 3x
5 = 3x - 2x
5 = 1x, therefore x=5

if you do the proof substituting for x you get the following:
(2 times 5) + 5 = (3 times 5)
10 + 5 = 15
15 = 15

Hope this helps!

first you want to get the "x"s on one side of the equation, the one opposite to the 5, so subtract 2x from both sides, you can add or subtract in these equations as long as you do the same thing to both sides, so, don't subtract the x from eachother, only the 3 and the 2, 3x-2x=1x or just x, this leaves you with 5=x and that is the answer!
5=x

Edward you must solve for "x".
Your answer is x=5
This is how it is done.

2x+5=3x
5=3x-2x
5=x
2(5)+5=3(5)
10+5=15
15=15

ok
1. move the 2x to the other side of the = sign but it turns to a negative so then its 3x-(-2x)=1x
2. so now your probelm should look like this 5=1x
3. so now you move the 1... since 1x is multiplying you do the opposite and divide on the opposite side of the =
4. so now it should look like this 5=x

and thats ur answer its pretty simple but hard to explain

You just have to move the 2x to the other side:

2x+5=3x
5=3x-2x
5=x

2x+5=3x

isolate the variable by subtracting 2x from both sides

5=1x

there is your answer

x=5

Two cant equal three because two is two and three is three. And by solving, it would mean that you are solving for the X. Which is zero. If you every, in any equation end with 2=3 or something like that, it is considered 'no solution'. so the answer to your problem is NO SOLUTION

2x+5=3x subtract 2x from both sides
-2x -2x

5=x there you go. the answer

this is like pre-algebra, it's easy,
