I am in the same boat as you but I have been at it for some time narrowing down my selection. I have always liked mp3 devised where you can buy more memory if needed and you can probably find a good Secure Digital (SD) memory mp3 player for around 30 dollars on e-bay and buy the SD memory separate at about 2 GB for 40 dollars. I'm being too picky which is why I can't decide on a single device.

I have a Creative Zen Vision:M and it is awesome but it is expensive but before that i had an rca lyra 256 mb and it lasted for 2 years before i got a new one. I think it is only like 50 dollars or something at walmart.
