convert everything to inches and then multiply the two dimensions
134 * 144= your answer in inches squared
11 ft 2 inches = 134 inches
1 yard = 3 ft which = 36 inches
you answer is 19 296

since carpet comes in square yards it will be 16 yards

or, you can say [(11+2/12)/3]*4

i think the answer is 15.2 feet squared. because i yard is appx .33 feet, so 4 yards is appx 1.333, which i 1 foot, and .33 of a foot which is 3.6 inches. so 11.2 feet times 1.36 feet is 15.2 feet squared. i hope thats right, if not sorry.
