There is nothing wrong with lifting weights 6 days a week... you just have to do it right. By right, I mean "Target Training". Target Training is where you isolate a muscle group and only work on those muscles that day. You will also need to throw a day of cardio in there to give your body a break.
For example:
Day 1: Abs
Day 2: Arms
Day 3: Back
Day 4: Cardio
Day 5: Shoulders
Day 6: Legs
Day 7: Chest
Notice, all muscle groups can be totally isolated for at least 48 hours. Using secondary muscles between 24 and 48 hours is fine too, just be careful not to over do it.

Its best to lift weights every other day (or 2 days on and 1 day off) to give your muscles time to recover. During recovery is when muscle growth takes place so you will get better results especially if you are just starting out. If you want to get into body building then that's different.

It is actually not good for you, unless you are using light weights and not doing too many reps. What they say is best is work out every other day, roughly three times a week. You are at a higher risk of injury.

Gee I don't know, try it for six days, or seven, see how you can operate then. I all actuality you should work out for four days, work two days, rest one, work two days, rest two. Now it doesn't hurt to do cardio every day. It all just depends on how fat you are.
