Just shrug it off and don't even give them the credit of an answer. They must have pretty narrow minds and YOU are bigger than that, okay? Hey, they're only words, not bombs!

Offer a heartfelt apology for their lack of common sense, and then try to help them through it by making sure they understand their lack of manners is probably not their fault, but the fault of their parents who were too stupid and lazy to teach them better.
"I am so sorry you don't have the basic common sense and decency to know what's appropriate to say and what isn't. It must be hard for you to understand why your parents obviously didn't care about you enough to teach you better, isn't it? Well, try not to let it get to you. More than likely, they were too stupid to realize what they were doing to you. But chin up. It's never too late. You could start learning now."

Well you need to NOT take crap from people like that! Stand your ground, never ever turn the other cheek it just makes things worse. Stand up for yourself right off the bat no matter what! Hope things work out for you.

Fake a laugh and say "That is sooo clever! I wish I could make my own clothes like you do!".

Give them a blank stare, as if you are trying to understand them. Tilt your head, like you don't understand.
Say, "Ouch, you really hurt me" , roll your eyes, walk away.
Nobody can recover from this passive response.
