It has both in it.Not purely evil not purely good.

Actually mankind before evolving to homo sapiens was neutral just as animals. When they learned to use their brains they learned about the good and bad also, and some people choose to be evil some to be good.

I don't think it's so much mankind as much as it is the politicians and governments all over the world! You see, it's like you wearing that b-ball uniform; it's not the person wearing it but which team he's representing! It's all about opposition, winning, dominance and of course, Money! So when you ask me if mankind is good or evil, I would have to say good...the only thing making those mankind members evil is the Flag(shirt/uniform) that they represent and defend. Nothing wrong with that? Sure would be alot better without all those borders and wars, etc...in my opinion!

There is no such thing as evil. Evil is the absence of good, just like darkness is the absence of light, and cold is the absence of heat. Therefore, people do not have evil. They just have a lack of good. There is not an evil force. So, people have varying amounts of goodness, and some have more than others.

Good and evil are social conventions invented by humans, so I don't think it makes sense to say mankind is either good or evil.

evil seems to overcome.. good seems to be an effort for most people!
i'm going from personal experience - you do good all day long day in day out, no-one notices or says anything nice. the moment you do the slightest thing wrong its 'heaven forbid, you are so wrong'. this seems to be everywhere in life.. sorry but its fact.. everyone expects you to make an effort but when u do something wrong, everyone remembers, and holds you to it too.. thats why im more forgiving of sinners than people who are 'perfect' all the time - at least sinners are honest...

I think overall we are good, a good example of this is hurricane Katrina or September 11, 01. When there is a disaster its always amazing how eager people are to help one another.
