i don't have warts. i was tested for HPV and they think that it is the strain that causes cervical cancer. but i understand that it is the same thing that causes warts. luckily i don't have that kind.

According to the CDC, 80% of the population has had some form of the HPV strain. It has to go away on its own and yes, it can go away on its own. It's a sexually transmitted strain of the same virus that causes regular ol' warts on your hands. There isn't even a TEST for men yet, only women.

get a second opion because hpv causes genital warts

I do. It goes away by itself. It's not anything to be concerned about unless your cells come back from a pap smear as abnormal. Then your obgyn will perform a colposcopy (biopsy of the affected area) to see if you should be concerned with it.

HPV is a virus. It has to run its course. You can treat the symptoms but not the virus.

Luckily I never had it because it does not go away. Sometimes you think it is gone because you don't see any outbreak but it is still there waiting to show up again.
