are piercings for the under 30's? Do you think they look tacky on older people?

Piercings tacky on older people you could certainly say that. However they look tacky on a lot of younger people also. When you see individuals with 3/4 piercings on each ear, both eyebrows, nose and lips and these are only the visible ones, tacky at the very least!

It's not only tacky but downright dangerous to have these body piercings done. Remember reading in the papers stories about people who died because of an infection they got while having their body pierced? The only piercing that do not look tacky is ear piercings for ladies (one on each ear!)

I know it is a free society and you can do whatever you want to do with your body but at the end you want to look good to others, so if so many people find it tacky, why do it?

Not necessarily.

I had a (male) prof who has a tongue piercing, and he looked smart & cool! By the way, if you do the addition, people typically don't finish their Ph.D until they're almost 30. And you usually can't teach in university unless you have a Ph.D.

Many old women have earrings, including the queen and probably many peoples' grandmothers. And I don't think they look tacky.

Now a middle-aged person with an eyebrow, nose, or belly button piercing.. that's tacky.

So I think it depends on the particular person, male or female, and where the piercing is.

I'm 36 and the owner of a pierced tongue, I guess it looks tacky on people who behave and look tacky... piercings can be an additional improvement of the way you want to be/look like. Although I'm a bit worried when it comes to navel piercings, they might not look so well anymore after having 4 kids and a stomach which isn't as flat as it used to be... But I also know younger people with those navel piercings that looked...well... not nice to say it in a descent way!
But having one should be your own choice and even if the majority of people look at it with disgust, if that person likes it, she/he should do what they want! Who are we to judge them then...

They look tacky on any people. The age doesnt matter. Although it is a requirement for acting retarded and getting your nose or eyebrow, of all places, peirced. Hopefully if you are 30+ you have enough sense to know better than to go poking holes in various body parts.

What difference does it make how old you are when you get a tattoo? We are all over 30 eventually, tacky or not.

It honestly depends on the person, which piercing, the placement, how it was taken care of...etc. No matter what age.

There are definitely some people over 30 who look good with a piercing. There definitely some people who don't.

I agree with bite_me. I'm 31 and love piercings and tattoos... and have many of both! I truly don't care if other people think it's tacky or whatever... I love them! And I love my body decorated by them... now and when I'm 50 or 60, and proud!! ;-)

i am 39 i have a tongue piercing and an eye brow piercing had belly pierced as well but removed it cause was pregnant also one somewhere else on top region but removed that cause having baby but i dont think its tacky as some one else said depends what u are wearing

Are you over 30 and thinking about piercings? If you want one get it done. I don't think they look good on anyone, but then again there is some lovely jewellery out there and apparently if you have certain bits of your body done it improves your sex life. Me I'm squeamish no piercings or tats for me.
