I'm an Italy fan but I think we should leave all polemics apart now & congratulate the winners. They played very well, there was real fair-play on the pitch and the fans in the stadium were great (especially about the Facchetti one minute of silence)
'I nostri ragazzi' played good, they did some errors in defense thoug, which decided the match.
Anyway it's SEMPRE FORZA ITALIA no matter what it happened.
My only hope is that Italy's loss will contribute to, finally, bring piece in this forum
I'm a little bit sad ( no one likes to loose!) but it's better we won the WC & at least French fans could receive some joy as well, because their team deserved it today.

mise: I also think Donadoni wasn't the best choice as Italy's coach, cause he hasn't got experience, but anyway we have to leave him some time before judging him. He should become more familiar with the group of players, gain some experience from the errors he did etc.

OK, now yes I realize that the whole Italian team is white, not the French team but please don't let people think that there is no racism because there is. When it is convenient yes France does want the dark people on its side. Now, what Zidane did was stupid and uncalled for, no matter what the Italian player might have said to him. Provocation is part of the game and you need to know how to take it. Besides, his action did not just affect him but the whole team him being the captain. Now, there is no excuse for what he did but I did feel very sorry for him, after having been very mad at him, when I saw him on the news today on the French international channel. He did feel very bad and he is not an actor. He is supposed to say in a few days what exactly happened. Until then ... It is sad and a shame that such a talented player leaves on that note but life goes on and the 2006 World Cup is over ... Italy won, France lost. That will not change. My favorite team was Brazil. They play fair and have AMAZING players and that's nothing new. Pele, Pele, Pele is THE man and that hasn't changed either! Zidane could have left with the same respect and consideration and not just from France but the whole world and he must feel pretty bad about it himself. More than anyone else's defeat it is HIS own.

Well done the blues, thats quite mature of you milanist_girl to accept defeat and congratulate your oppponents when they defeat you. I had told you before it was very hard for Italy to beat France and it has come to be so.

If I could talk to the Italy players, my advice to them is to leave what happened yesterday and forcus on the next matches. Although they have already lost 5 points they still stand a very big chance coz out of the 5 points only 2 of them against lituenia can be counted lost. I believe they werent expecting much from France match.

I also feel Donadoni is not so much in control of the team, compared to Lippi. He lacks authority; he should be replaced. This group is not an easy one remember it includes Scotland and France both regular teams in the euro finals. Italy lost its first match under Donadoni against Croatia, drew with Lithuenia in the second and now fell down to France in the third.

For italy to get back to euro 98 qualifiers track, they have to think twice especialy about the technical team. Why did they have to let go go Machello? I think he should be brougt back even if it is not for the coaching job but can also be hired as a technical director or adviser or any other senior post if they dont want to fire Donadoni. For me I feel Donadoni has been given enough time-3 matches and yet the world champions can't win a single out of them?

Yes, I agree. The French did deserve today's victory, if they played well, and sincere congratulations to them. I'm sure that they a overjoyed at this point.

Notice how we're happy for them, and they're happy for their team? Peace is already in the process of being restored.
