Physically active from junior high to junior year in college (contact sports), degree, job, family, decided to restart my physical activities (20 lbs over my HS weight), and that’s when my body told me I am not twenty-two anymore.

•I have arthritis in both my knees (doctor said it was abuse/over used)
•Injuries are more frequent
•Lost 10 lbs (leveled off and will not go down anymore)
•Too stubborn to quit
•Too thick to accept what is best for my body

The best suggestion I can give is to start taking gelatin. My dad did this to rebuild the cartilage up in his back (dr said he needed surgery) and within a month he was a new man. He started drinking 1 packet of knox gelatin mixed with o.j. twice a day in his early 60's. He is now in his early 70's and is in better shape than when he was in his 40's. The gelatin will help rebuild the cartilage in your knees. As for the weight, don't give up but don't expect to get back to you h.s. weight. You are a man now, not a boy!

Hi Sam. I am not very old and so I don't have a lot of good advice for you, but one thought did come to mind. It sounds like you were (are) a very physical guy. You have had a lot of training and experience. So if you have come to an age where you can't do all the things you used to do, then maybe this is your moment to become a mentor to those of us who are just getting started. Yoy are a teacher now. How could you find a place where kids need your wisdom and love for life?

I'm 44 and at one point considered one of the top 5 shortstops in "A" and "Open" softball in the country. I am where you are so I started coaching and trying to teach what I love.
