I've been 'with' this guy for a couple of months who is admittedly insecure because of past relationships and so on. He's really impatient if I don't call him the moment that I say I will but he insists on pinning me down to a time to call anyway, I guess he's afraid I won't call. And he lives about 2 hours away so the distance brings out irrational jealousy. That's the negative....
....The positive is, he works 2 jobs as a firefighter and a wrecker and says he wants to take care of me and my 2 kids. He wants to buy me a phone and give me the car he's driving right now (he's getting a new truck) so I can drive up to see him.
I'm not a material person and I've never been in this situation, it's very tempting though. In any other situation the red flags of controlling insecurities would have ended the relationship a long time ago, but despite the fact that I always feel like I have to answer to him and explain myself, he's a really sweet person.
I need an outsiders opinion.

Be careful about rationalizing away your future happiness. Be picky about who you choose to control you and your children. This is man's nature to control-just be sure you can live with his type of control. If you think you can love him do not come back later and resent his controlling you and your kids. You knew what he was like before you committed to him. Let the man be the man that he is and don't try to change or control him. Maybe things could work out well for you guys.

He's going to control you.
In a relationship it never should be pinpointed when someone may call. Usually insecurity is a red flag of someone who's cheating themselves.

You should never have to explain yourself to him. If that's the way things are, you need to break it off now before it's harder. Like when you're married with kids who will be hurt by this.

Never look a Gift Horse in the Mouth!
How do U feel about him?
Don't take any gifts, If U really don't care.
But give him a chance, If U do.
Well that's my advice & I'm just off 2 answer UR last question.
Thanx, it's been fun.
:)

Well with the exception of being a control freak he sounds fine. However, this one issue or exceptional quality will drive you up the wall one day and it won't matter what his other qualities are.

Well it sounds to me like he has to be in charge and control everything including you. If you want someone that wants to control you go for it. BUT I would be care-full you could be treading very, very thin ice like I was!

If the hangman told you your hair looked nice and that he liked you perfume as he was putting the rope around you neck, would it make the execution a pleasant experience?
