The story itself is fiction, but many things in it are based on reality. There are many books out there that can help you decipher what's real and what's not. Christians generally strongly oppose the idea that Mary Magdalene was married to Jesus and that he was ever romantically linked with her. However, the picture of the last supper was certainly interesting. I know that they were very close, but in true paparazzi fashion, people jump to conclusions to find scandal and link them romantically. That's sad.

So... take a look at the evidence for the truth yourself and let that guide you to what you believe - don't base thoughts and opinions on what you read here.

the book as a whole is fiction. There are certain aspects that are actually fact though. There ARE gospels that are not in the bible, and DaVinci really DID paint those paintings. However, there are no clues hidden away in his paintings, and no alternate definitions of the holy grail. True the holy grail may be defined in different ways throughout the eras, but the holy grail is not Mary Magdaline's womb.

Mary Magdaline was truly in a close relationship with Jesus; however, how close they were is something we will never know. We know they were close from the scriptures found in the dead sea scrolls. They stated that peter was slightly jealous because he kissed Mary Magadaline more on the ... Every time it was mentioned where he kissed her however, there were holes in the parchment, where someone had burnt out the word. We will never know where he kissed her, whether it was her lips, shoulder, feet, or nose. This in no way proves as fact that they were intimate with each other in a physical way though. That can only be guessed and pondered at.

The yarn that is told in the DaVinci Code is fiction. Certain facts are included in the novel and along with other ficticous statements. The rest is merely speculation.

The only idea worth pursuing form the Da Vinci Code is that the masculine has dominated the world since the times of organized religion and that we have lost the balance between masculine and feminine that was present in a greater degree during the times of pagan worship. I think that is the real message hidden in the book.

I'm sure there is some truth to it, but it is a work of fiction, according to the author. I believe that it's possible that Mary Magdalene was a disciple. Beyond that, I think it's purely invention, and even the part about Mary Magdalene being a disciple... is theory, not fact.

Subjective truths, maybe. It's been a few years since I read the book. I remember being inspired by some of the pro-female ideas, and it did make me think about my personal beliefs for a while...

Ancient Faith based religions, such as Christianity, are really hard to prove beyond the shadow of a doubt.

Are you the most uninformed person on the planet? Wake up!!! Steve Irwin died!!! It was fiction. Not even that good to be honest. Look up those paintings and read his descriptions as you look at them. The man has no appreciation for art, yet alone an understanding it.

IT WAS A BOOOOOOK. But it did present some very real ideas that may or may not have happened. It is for you to think about and discover for yourself. Things that we believe becasue we are told to never last as long as the ones that we find out on our own.
