I have an insecurity about my body, which is I guess a normal thing for a 15 year old girl to go through. I'm thinner than all my friends, and I feel REALLY skinny. Even my bf says I'm really skinny, but then my mom says I'm about average size. Just to give u guys an idea of how I look, I'm 5'7 and I weigh 115-120lbs. Also I have a small size chest (A cup size) than I'm insecure about. I just want to have a womanly shape, but I'm afraid I'll be stuck with a 12-13 year old girls body for the rest of my life. I've noticed how much my friends bodies have changed over the summer, and it makes me feel a lot worse than I already do. My bf thinks I'm pretty, but I'm just really skinny. How can I make these insecurites go away? Is it bad bein 5'7, 115-120lbs, and wear a size 5 jeans?? oh and serious answers plz, this a really touchy subject for me.

I'm 30+ and have worn the same size since MiddleSchool, (a childish size 3) and yes I have kids.

I feel qualified to say that you must consistently love yourself and appreciate your "beauty" no matter what "they" say about you.
I've been called skinny, big lip'd, w/a big behind and a few other choice words growing up. Now it seems these features are a positive fashion statment. Do not let other peoples opinion of you affect how you feel about you.

* IF you never get any bigger, great there's just that much less of you to worry about sagging 30 yrs from now.
* IF you do get bigger, great, you'll have more "womanly" curves to work with!
Either way YOU will still be YOU, and YOU will be no less of a WOMAN!

You're right, it's totally normal to be insecure about your body at your age. Especially considering how the media constantly places an emphasis on "how you're supposed to look". You are thin, however, your mom is right. You are completely normal for your age. I suspect part of the reason you're so thin is because of your height. I promise you WILL fill out and develop beautiful womanly curves. Most of us don't really start to develop those curves until around age 17 or 18, sometimes even older. Take a look at your mom's body and that will be a pretty good indication of how you're going to look when you get older. Oh, and as you get older and your body finally begins to retain a little more fat, you're chest will grow too. In the meantime, try choosing clothes that create a curve for you until you develop your own. A skirt that hits at the knee will not accentuate your height. Stay away from clunky shoes. A skinny heel, if a heel is worn at all, balances out a taller woman. A structured top that comes in just above the waist gives the illusion of curves. With fall coming up you can take advantage of a cowl-neck sweater. It will define your shoulders more.
Hope this helps and hang in there. You're beautiful and normal! and stop calling yourself skinny. That sounds negative. You're THIN. :)

You are thin, not skinny. You wear a size 5 that is a good size to be. You are at that age when all girls have insecurities about their bodies. The chest size may come and then again it may not, but that is not a bad thing. Think of it this way, when you get older you will not be plagued with back problems like a lot of women have because of a larger breast size. You still have plenty of time yet to develop. Instead of thinking of the negatives, think of the positives...you could be overweight like alot of teenagers these days. Hang in there hun,,,

It sounds to me like you are the perfect size. I am going on 27 and my body just started to look like a women about 6 or 7 years ago. I was always under 100 pounds in school and I hated it . But these feelings do start to go away once you hit a certain age and 15 is still pretty young. Give yourself another 2 or 3 years and I bet you will be happy. And if your bf thinks that your are fine the way you are then you should just be happy with that.

I wouldn't worry if I were you, (i still don't). As a teenager I was skinny too. As you get older you'll put on weight and believe me it is difficult to loose that. I can empathise with you, if ur mum says u r average, don't worry. If ur bf doesn't mind, don't worry. As long as u r eating healthily, don't have underlying problems like eating disorders and ur general well being is good. don't dress into very fitting clothes. have proper sleep schedule.
Your chest size will increase still (maybe as a result of motherhood). Because of ur petite frame u'll look younger than ur age. Loose the insecurities and u might actually put on some weight. Good luck, u have plenty to look fwd 2 in life than worry about size 5 jeans.

That is not too skinny. When I was 15 I was 5'8 and I weighed 125-130 and wore a size 5. Now if you were 5'7 and weighed 100 lbs that would be too skinny. You are still growing so you may eventually get curves.

I think as long as you are healthy, eating properly and getting exercise, you are just the right size for you. Feeling insecure is normal but you need to listen to your mom (sounds crazy at that age, lol) and accept you for you. As for the "developing", you may just take some time to get there. I was an A cup until I was about 16 or 17. One morning I woke up and BOOM!! I had boobs! Very scary!! :)
I'm sure you are a beautiful young lady that will develop when your body is ready to. Just be patient and love yourself now, just the way you are!! Good luck honey!! :)

When I was your age, I was also 5'7" and 95lbs soaking wet. I was rail thin and I ate like a horse! I also had small breasts, which waited to fill in until I was about 22. I am now a large C and would love to be a little smaller breasted! As for your body, just be happy you are not overweight. It is much easier to gain than to lose! Keep a healthy diet and you will do fine!!! :)

You are a little on the thin side, BUT, enjoy it. Someday you might be on the heavy side and long for these days. As for your chest, being as you say "small", don't worry about it. Everyone grows at different rates. I know girls and women that think they want larger breasts and the women that do, want smaller. Nobody is perfectly satisfied with their body, NOBODY! Be happy you're healthy and be a cheerful person. That will get you more happiness than anything else.

Well, it's not that bad. It is very thin, but not underweight. And a size 5 is good, at least you are not a size 0! Just be happy with who you are, you sound like an intelligent, beautiful young lady. Confidence is the most attractive quality, work on your self esteem and stay positive. Good luck : )
