Come on, they are filming the people from day one. Do you really think someone is risking anything? What a joke and really bad acting. It should be called Giligan's ******.

Its not about the danger you dolt. Its about seeing people react under pressure of not having what they are used to having. Its about being in control.
Did you watch the one where the New York firefighter won? He was cool and calm all the way through the game. If you do that, you win. Most people can't handle anything out of the ordinary.

The first season I did not watch Survivor. As a matter of fact my comment was that whoever watched it needed to get a life. The second season I watched it and was hooked. I have not missed a season since then and I am probably their number one fan.

As far as there being any real danger-I'd say the most danger that anyone has ever been in was during the filming in Africa. They did in fact have to build a fortress of thorns around their camp in order to keep some of the lions out. Personally I think the only real danger would come from the bite of a spider, insect, or something of that nature. Some of the danger comes from the contestants themselves. During the episode where the guy got burned so badly, he either fainted or fell asleep while at the fire. Last season there was a man that got so constipated that it sent him to the hospital. Kinda of funny I know, but still serious. Remember the season in Australia when the older man missed a couple of nights of counsel because when he was voted off he fainted due to dehydration and hunger? Last seasons winner said the hunger was bad for her that once the season was over her obsession with food was unreal. So there are dangers, just not the lions, and tigers and bears-oh my!

It's only dangerous health wise like when that guy last year had digestion trouble and a few years back when the guy fell into the fire. They aren't really at danger of being eaten by jungle animals or sharks or anything. The show would never allow that. I think they have to be careful to a degree because there is no way the show could prevent a snake bite or something small like that.

The thing is, the show is still fun and I really don't think any part of it is "fake" but that's my own opinion. Sometimes today it is hard to tell what's real and what's not. Either way, just sit back and enjoy! This season is sure to be an interesting one...

Actually A man was seriously burned in Australia. Others have broken ankles and such. Remember these are reall people, not stunt men. Walk in the wrong place, get bit by a snake. Or swim with a sting ray & get stabbed. Stuff happens to even the pros.

the things to remember is that these shows are edited before we see them,,
I can give you a list of injuries that has happened on the show,, some of which have already been talked about.

the other thing is all the challenges have been pre tested,, the have a complete crew who mirror the actual cast who do the stunts before the competitors so make sure they are safe and do-able.

it's TV folks,, it has to be entertaining as well as believable.

To a point I agree with you,do feel its all preplanned out, but like last year two different health issuses come up,one he was drinking, the other blockage, so I feel they are in more higher risk bracket than if they were home, its just there 15 minutes of fame

There are a few risks because even the most choreograhed show has a margin of error. There was one season where a castoway was burned pretty bad.

It's definitely edgy and will no doubt garner reaction but most importantly it's stupid and idiotic. What was CBS thinking??????
