Just got a computer and was wondering if there is some cool stuff out there that i need to be seeing or learning about.

You could learn C++, Java, Pearl, and Virtual Basic. That should keep you busy. Don't bother learning HTML until you've mastered the other. People often make that mistake and it just makes things messy for everyone.
