I eat tons of yogurt as it is, and i'm sure that i got mine cause i was on some antibiotics for a UTI, and the Nurse told me to watch out for yeast infections, but i didn't think that i would actually get it!!! AAAAAHHHHHH!!!! Horrible! I wouldn't even wish this on my worst enemy!!!

There's a prescription pill called Diflucan that you can take orally. It's one pill. That's it. It's the easiest way to deal with it. Call the doctor that prescribed and tell him/her that you now have a yeast infection. I don't know about Diflucan and pregnancy, so anything that you take, even if it's OTC, you'll want to triple ensure that it's safe for pregnant women.

Good luck to you.

They are so miserable, and paired with a uti is the worst.

The ovule dissolves. I used it once, and I woke up with the most horrible burning pain, the kind of pain that makes you want to throw up. However, the yeast infection was gone. The thing with the 1 day treatment is that if you're still on the antibiotics and you do a one day treatment....it's probably going to come back.

your doctor might be willing to call in a prescription for diflucan. And from now on, when you get a script for antibiotics, just have the doc write something for yeast.

Do not wear tight fitting panties, make sure the gusset in them is cotton and that the panties are from some type of natural fabric (cotton, silk) don't wear panties to bed. I have also read that thong underwear aren't a good idea if you a prone to this. Worried about panty lines? Try a boy short panty. Acidiphoulus (sp?) is a supplement that you can take to lower the chances. You can get it at any health store or vitamin section. I am not sure about the ovule pill but I imagine the whole thing disolves.

Hello, I'm on the second week and seeing definite improvement on my yeast infection symptoms:

Note that: If the yeast infection doesn't respond to over the counter treatment, prescription medication will likely be necessary. Similarly, if the symptoms return after two months of being treated, you should contact the doctor for professional treatment rather than resorting again to home treatment.

If this is the first time you have experienced a yeast infection, you should schedule an appointment to have the condition treated by a doctor instead of resorting to home treatment

I got these constantly when I was pregnant, and have never had a problem with them at any other time. If you go to Wal-Mart, they've got various remedies (Monostat, etc.) I recommend the one- or three-day treatments. You're supposed to insert the ovule just before bed, because it will slowly dissolve, and you don't want it leaking out while you're standing (make sure you've taken your last leak for the night before inserting). Also, ways to make sure you don't get more is to wipe very thoroughly after using the restroom, making sure there's no dampness left, avoiding non-breathable underwear (cotton and things with holes is better), dry yourself extremely thoroughly after showers, and make sure you avoid irritants. Unfortunately, it's always a risk when you're on antibiotics. Next time, though, watch for the early symptoms and catch it before it gets that bad. The longer you wait the worse it gets. Good luck! Sorry!

The pill dissolves completely. You should really check with your Dr. about what the causes were and what to do to avoid this from happening again especially because you are pregnant and your body does not respond to things like normal. Yogurt, cranberry juice/pills are just some of the things they say will stop it from coming back, but don't count on it.
In some cases, your spouse may have the bacteria in him and when you have sex it transfers back to you, so he would have to be on some kind of medications to get rid of the bacteria also.
You really need to talk to a Dr.

I can't help you really.
However, I would like you to know that I have a lip ring and while it was healing, I drank beer.

I wasn't paying attention, really.
A few days later, I realized that my lip had a yeast infection.
So, I definitely feel for you.
It sucks.

The ovule dissolves. You may get a little bit of discharge from it. Its better to insert it at bedtime.
