I don't think age really matters...it's the maturity level that you need to think about. When I was 17 I dated a 23 year old bloke and we had a great relationship for about 6 months, never any problems really.

No.. I do not. I think the 16 year old should wait. NOT BECAUSE American law dictates an age of 18 or some such nonsense but at 16, it is just too young

Yeah, it's fine, because in 20 years, you'll be 36 and 38, and at your age, it's legal so long as you're within 4 years (double check the laws in your state, but this is usually what it is).
