Did you see Groundhog Day?
Overboard is cheesy, but really funny.

try the movie Mrs. Henderson Presents. It has some serious dramatic moments, but has a light-hearted beat carried through the interactions of the two main characters. Takes place during the world war in Britain at the time of the air raids and Mrs. Henderson is a new widow in need of a hobby. She decides to open a theatre and in order to bring in new original ideas for an audience, introduces the idea of naked girls (something completely unheard of) and seeing their reactions and efforts in the case is quite hilarious. A wonderful expression. I recommend it.

I love Brittish Humor as well. I could reccomend something like Elf. That movie I expected to suck, but I laughed through most of it. It is well worth watching.

I think you should rent Who's Harry Crumb, The Jerk, or Funny Farm. Those movies rock, and are very funny. :)
