Can I bring it back before it gets opened? It's a funny joke to some, but it touches a touchy subject with my friend.

just tell her you ment to send it to someone else so just delete it and pay it no mind.

To hell with them! Freedom and open-mindedness implies a willingness to be offended. If I was every offended I would never say, "Hey you, die now biotch," because I'm a true American who values the individual's right to a pursuit of happiness. I would tell them they're stupid and have evidence to back it up. Offended is just an excuse for people who don't have any evidence to back up their bullshit. All they have is denial, and their stupid feelings and misinterpreted experiences. So who needs friends like that? Forget them.

What software you used to send email. If you used microsoft outlook, there is a recall feature in microsoft outlook. If you used something else you are pretty much out of luck. You might as well callup your friend and have them delete email without reading it.

There's nothing you can do.
Call your friend and tell him/her about it so they don't have to be as shocked when they open it. Be sure to apologize.
