No, it's not a requirement. Depending on the family, you might get lots of pressure to join. But Mormons (Latter-Day Saints) are taught that everyone has agency, aka - the right to choose.

If anyone gives you a hard time about not joining, you can kindly remind them that the Mormon church allows people the right to worship as they see fit. You can also recite the 11th Article of Faith. (The 13 Articles of Faith are basic statements about what Mormons believe).

"We claim the privilege of worshiping Almight God according to the dictates of our own conscience, and allow all men the same privilege, let them worship how, where, or what they may."

If this is said in a polite and respectful way, I think many Mormons would get the point that you would want them to stop pressuring you.

If you are worthy enough you will be allowed to join the Mormon church. You will have to promise to give 10 percent of your income to the Church. You will have to promise to drink no tea, coffee, or alcohol. You will have to promise to not smoke. You will have to attend church at least three hours a week. You will not be allowed to cheat on your wife. You will have to give up swearing, looking at pornography, and being mean to your neighbors. You will have to become a good citizen of the country where you live. You will have to read the scriptures daily, pray several times a day, and help the poor and needy. You will have to sustain your Church leaders and follow their counsel. That's what members of the Church do, and they do it willingly because they love the Lord. And you will have to love the Lord more than anything else in the world, and believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior and Redeemer.

No, you wouldn't have to join the Church, but it would be a great honor to you, and a privilege if they let you join. And if that good Mormon woman was willing to accept a sinner like you to be her husband.

As I understand it, not to marry her civilly. You might want to check www.lds.org, and ask local LDS missionaries about the LDS doctrine of eternal marriage, to help you with your decision.
Please make sure you base your decision on accurate information from official LDS sources (such as those cited above). I say this because I saw some information which was not entirely correct on some of the previous posts.

No, you wouldn't. I know lots of people where one spouse is LDS and the other is not. My aunt and uncle for one. However, if she wants to be married in an LDS temple, then you would need to convert.
