My 11 week old sleeps so much longer and sounder on his stomach. I don't like to do this because of SIDS, but I hear that there are monitors like the one from BeBe Sounds that you can lay your babies on and it will sound an alarm if they stop breathing or does not detect movement after 20 seconds. I have to go back to work next week and my son is still up every 2-2 1/2 hours. HELP??? Should I do this?

Does he roll over on his own from front to back and back to front? My girls both did at about that age and both were tummy sleepers. Their pediatrician said tummy sleeping was fine once they've mastered rolling over both ways.

i be attentive to precisely what you propose. I even have 2 sons elderly 13 and eight and a clean little daughter who's 6 months. ALL of my toddlers have favored dozing on their tummies. i'm properly attentive to the possibility of SIDS and am additionally conscious they they nevertheless have not any thought of what reasons those unlucky deaths of toddlers. because of the fact that I had my first newborn further and extra issues have been further to the record of issues that could reason SIDS. For regardless of reason all 3 of my toddlers have been born with very solid necks and backs and have been able to strengthen their heads from delivery. i be attentive to this is unusual, yet that's what they have been like. And to that degree, all have been sitting by making use of four and a nil.5 months. because of the fact they have been able to strengthen their heads I by no skill had any concern of laying them on their bellies and my 2nd son in specific DID basically WHAT YOUR infant IS DOING - he might opt to place face down or maybe whilst i might circulate his head to the part he might immediately turn it face down returned. My little female is now placed to mattress on her back because of the fact if she is going down on her abdomen she basically thinks this is play time besides the fact that many times once I examine on her at the same time as dozing or once I hear her wake, she is on her abdomen. purely you will possibly be attentive to whether you experience secure letting your infant sleep on her abdomen and little doubt you be attentive to approximately SIDS and what the hazards are.

Both my kids slept on their stomachs all the time, once they start rolling around there is nothing you can do to stop them from sleeping in any position. Let the little guy get his sleep and you can as well.

I definitely would. My son slept better on his tummy too, and after while I just gave up the fight. The moniter is a wonderful invention, and I would take advantage of it. Especially if your baby sleeps better that way...

The answer is NO. I suggest you find out WHAT SIDS actually is. sleeping on the stomach doesn't cause sids but exacerbates it if the kid is prone to it.

Lay your baby on his side and use a baby wedge. it will apply soft support to his tummy and back. This usually comforts enough.
