I am having problems eating also. I literally have to force myself to eat. Try giving her some rice with some butter and pepper on it. Right now , the plainer the meals the better. She needs to start eating for your baby. Try giving her crackers ( plain ) and yogurt. Good luck and congrats on your little one !!!!

Keep trying. If she is stubbornly efffected by morning sickness, she may feel reluctant to eat. It is normal to not feel the need to eat while you are that early in the pregnancy, and her appetite will soon pick up and you will not be able to keep food out of her mouth. The important thing is that she is taking prenantals and eating the ' right kinds' of food. Eggs are very healthful and shows she does have a bit of an appetite. Express the importance you feel for feeding her and the child adn she may come around to eating more often. Most women have a hard time eating because of morning sickness. My husband and I had a hard time with our first one because we were on food stamps and I would only eat ramen noodles. This time, our second child, we have no asisstance and we are broke a lot. It was difficult and my doctor almost had me on an IV for nutrience. I am now 29 weeks and gained 14 pounds in the last month. Don't fret, she will come out of it, we always do. Good luck and Congrats.

I know how she's feeling, I'm almost 9 weeks pregnant now and it is hard for me to eat anything. I spoke to my doctor because I was concerned (I've lost 10 lbs so far.) My doctor said that as long as I'm getting liquid in me I shouldn't worry. Try to get her to eat fruit. The boiled eggs are good because it gives her protein and that helps hold off hunger for awhile (I'm tired of being hungry, I throw up almost everything I eat yet I'm starving.) Ask her what sounds good. My hubby has been a godsend lately, last night I said I think I could eat Taco Bell nachos, so he ran out to get them, the night before I said a Strawberry Frappachino (no caffeine of course) sounded good. Just be there for her, try to tempt her, but don't discuss food too much (just the thought of some foods sends me over the edge.) Our house is a disaster right now because I've been so sick. Ask her if you can help around the house at all :)
Hope that helps.

It depends on why she is not eating. If she is experiencing extreme morning sickness, and cannot keep down even water, take her to the doc and he should be able to help her with the nausea. Other than that, try and get her to drink more water at least. The baby will take what it needs from mom. Mom gets what is left.

Bottom line is she is really early into her pregnancy. Symptoms (especially Morning sickness) suck. Cut her a little slack. If everything you smelled made you vomit, you would avoid food too.

It's because the hormones in her body are changing, and her taste buds are changing, and anything she eats or smells might make her nauseous. You need to ask her to try out a couple of things, as people's preferences are as different as themselves. She might like less spicy foods, and more peppery ones. Ask her to try out a variety of fruits, and avoid the oily diets. Eventually she will feel like eating one thing or the other and should mention it. If she tries and and likes it then she should have that as often as possible until she gets something else to suit her appetite.
I think eventually as she gets used to the baby and her hormones sort of balance, she will get used to the foods and start eating normally. Nice thing you're there for her...keep it up!

she's not going to starve herself but its a funny time....foods you loved sudddenly become disgusting and weird stuff is the only thing you want......
its true she will need to eat properly but she's not a child or a pet so as you know you can't make her do anything but try and bear with her and encourage her to get a balance of foods that give her what she needs...
she can put together some really weird and wonderful combinations that you may think are disgusting but are actually just the thing she needs..
supplements can help too....but don't nag her or stress yourself you've got a long run you both need to be fit for it!!!

Make sure she's taking prenatal vitamins. She should come out of it soon. Sometimes us pregnant ladies love food--sometimes we don't. Give her a week or so. If she's not doing better, suggest she call the doctor, or you can call the doctor and ask if its a normal behavior and how to deal with it. She definitely needs her vitamins and to be drinking a lot of fluids!

It is common for woman to lose weight in the first few months.. she probably feels really sick.. I didn't eat much either... Just make sure she drinks enough to not get dehydrated.. and maybe a nutritional supplement like Ensure Plus to make sure she is getting some kind of nutrients... Don't worry though, her appetite will pick up!

Good luck and congrats to you both!

She probably does not feel well. Ask her what she is feeling like having. Even if its a snow cone get it for her :-) She may not be able to stomach a lot right now. I had that problem my first pregnancy. Try to be super understanding and helpful. Find her something she will eat :-) Good luck to you! :-)

The baby will take what it needs from the mothers body so the mother will suffer if she doesn't eat properly. Although when your pregnant you sometimes crave strange things or are not hungry. This should pass, and the baby will be fine. She should try to take her vitamins, for her sake. Like I said the baby will take what it needs from the mother.
