I need something that isn't cartoonish, though.

Thank you so much. I love the ideas, but we already did a movie theme a few years back so we wanted to do something that didn't have to do with movies. I should have said that earlier, but thanks for the ideas so far.

You could draw or design a Scrapbook page for the cover. Maybe something with an Admit One ticket on it with several photos of school year key events and other memorabilia like champion ribbons or graduation tassels, etc. Maybe make it look like a scrapbook lying open on a table at a slight angle with just the tips of fingers at the edge giving the perspective that it is being looked through by someone remembering the "Good Old Days".

how about using another definition for Admit One. Like Admit you are the best school some kind of confessional. Perhaps some original artwork that shows this definition (an art contest for the cover).

Or you make the cover depict a nightclub door scene where the door man is looking at the list and admitting the students into the school.

I would say that since the theme is a bit on the theatrical side, you may want to have a picture of your school's main entrance with a theatre marquee over it, with the name of the school and your class in letters on the marquee. A box office could be added to the side where admission "tickets" representing various classes are given to incoming students. Just a thought.

Draw a picture of a movie ticket....a bucket of popcorn and a soda...maybe even the outline of a person sitting in a movie theater chair in the background.

I would put a movie or theater ticket on the cover. Put it diagonally, make it large, and be creative on what should be on the ticket...for instance, under show name, put the name of your high school.

Make the background a dark color to contrast the light ticket.

That's what I would do.
