I have a feeling about this question, but I'll take the bait anyway.

I used to get calls for Shaniqua all the time. I finally changed the message on my answering machine, disclaiming all knowledge of this person.

They finally got the hint.

You might say - "Hello. This is NOT the home of Mike Hunt. I do not know Mike Hunt. I have never seen Mike Hunt. No one in this house has ever seen or even spoken to Mike Hunt. So if you're calling for Mike Hunt, I suggest you look elsewhere. Mike Hunt has left the building!"

In closing, I'd like to thank you for ending my day on such a good note!

You do realize that Mike Hunt is a prank (ala Porky's) 'Has anyone seen Mike Hunt?!'

Write down the phone number next time they call and report them to the police- it is not a wrong number.

I had that problem for two years after I moved into my house and took a telephone number.. I was getting 2-4 calls a day then dwindled down to 3 a month and now for the past 5 months, not a call. There is really no way to get them to stop except... EXCEPT if the same person is calling and then tell them that this is YOUR telephone number ands whoever had it before are gone.. No.. the telephone company WILL NOT HELP YOU

I had this same problem, and it was mostly creditors that called for this unknown person named Ryan Hoggs. After awhile my patience wore thin and then I just started yelling at whoever phoned for him. Not the best thing to do but hey its frickin annoying. The calls stopped after 6 months. Hope they stop a lot faster then that for you.

Someone has watched too much Simpsons. If you have caller ID, block the number they are calling from. Otherwise, you can request that your phone provider change your phone number because of prank calls.

When we got our phone number we had the same problem but they were looking for Debbie ****** I found during the day and early evening it was bill collectors. They were very threatening and rude. At night It was drunk ex boy friends and ex husbands. At least the guys realized I was not Debbie. It lasted for about two years I googled her and found out her new address and got her new phone number which I gleefully passed on to all!

good question. we all have that "someone" -- next time take his/her number...call back at 12 midnight their number and ask if they are home...and you want to speak to them...repeat this at one hour intervals...and then stop when they apologize. voila.
ps. also add...mr. hunt went hunting...that will do.
