It's hard, but you're probably doing the right thing, unless he is unhappy with his current partner. But, sooner or later, true love finds a way. It's as inevitable as water, gravity, or sunrise.

Difficult one this. I don't think you will be able to stop loving him until you meet another guy and focus your attention on him. In the meantime you have to work out which is the lesser of the 2 evils. Either stop hanging around with him, as the only way to stop this pain of unrequited love is to get him out of your life, or keep seeing him and learn to live with the feelings for the sake of your friendship.
It hurts, I know. Keep your chin up girlie xx

I fell in love with a friend. I kept it to myself for 7 years. I tried to treat it like a 'crush' but it was very hard. I kept thinking that the signals he was sending me were my imagination... surely he couldn't be feeling the same way?..... but it turned out he was and we ended up having an affair. Neither of us ever contemplated leaving our partners and we had a wonderful year. We ended the affair mutually for reasons I won't go into but we still love each other. I think of him a lot and hope that one day we can be together openly. But if not.....it's better to have loved and lost .......

I was in the same position. It hurts like mad. I tried to stay friends but kept my distance. After a while it got easier but I never stopped loving him. Still do in fact.....
If it's mean't to be it will be, hold on to that.

love is the one and only one feeling that can never be converted into friendship. love is love..you are on the right track, you will come over the pain by time, and, who knows what might happen later..you just keep avoiding this person,it is more healthy for you.

since he is taken its best not to say anything, just be happy for him and just continuing being a friend, you never know, there may even be a guy that feels the same way about you!!

try to move on by being interested in other guys. It will get you to stop thinking about the friend who is TAKEN.

I think you need to try and distance yourself from him a little. He cant just be a friend if you feel like this. Once you move on and start having feelings for someone else you can continue being friends. you dont have to be obvious about it, just to it in a subtle manner

Ahh it`s hard I know, but be a good friend to him and then you can still enjoy his company. You will prob be friends for many years, and if it`s not right for now then who knows in the future! Hope you can sort it out...good luck.
