Peter Crouch has done exceptionally well since he got in the England side. I think however that the automatic choices would be Rooney and Owen with Crouch on the bench as an alternative if thinks were not working out. On current form he must be the best striker in the world based on goals per games

I would have to say yes to do this, because 99% of national teams don't know how to compete with such a tall player, he's very good on the ground, but is still quite weak in the air.
If there is one player who is tall and done it on the international side, then it's Jan Koller of the Czech Republic.

No, he's England's weapon of mass destruction - he can usually destroy up to 10 good goal oportunities before he scores (if he scores at all).
