She keeps acting like I want to marry her but I dont. I cant have a normal conversation about what kids of ours would look like or if she likes white dresses without her taking it the wrong way. I felt bad for her because she was upset about me telling her for the umpteenth time that I dont want to get married, so I bought her a diamond ring. Then she took that all wrong. Cant we just visit wedding chapels without her getting the wrong impression all the time?

Women do that. They take the smallest insinuation and blow it out of proportion. I bet if you married her she still wouldn't get the picture.

Why are you wasting her time.Tell her you are not a marrying type you just wanna be in a relationship so that she may go and look for someone who love her enough to marry her.She not taking anything wrongly because you have never told her your intensions with her so stop blame her.If you dont want to get married why did you buy her a ring or visit wedding chapels

It sounds like you are leading her on in order to have sex with her until you find your perfect match. Forgive me if I am wrong, but why on earth would you mention kids, white dressed and, for God's sake, get her a diamond ring if you do not want to marry her? I see why you would not marry her; she is not smart enough to dump you and find someone who loves her for real.

there's nothing wrong with not getting married.. but if you don't want to get married.. why to you keep on leading her that way... stop hinting about it.. stop showing her dresses, etc etc.. of course she thinks that you don't mean what you say...
would you like it if she kept on saying she wants to sleep with you.. and then go away at the last minute ? ...
it's a women's dream to get married.. at some point... so don't lead her the wrong way.. be truthful.. and stay away from all the wedding stuff if you don't want to get married... - it's a bit cruel if you ask me

I don't know why women want that piece of paper to show you are committed. don't let her pressure you into marriage it won't work if you don't want to be married.plus the man gets screwed when it comes to divorce time.I was married 19 years and I will never do it again. tell her that living together is the same thing as marriage it's just A piece of paper.you are committed to the relationship.

For some reason, women just cannot get it through their heads that guys want to stay single. The mere mention of anniversaries, growing old together, kids, etc...sends them to someplace I just don't understand...it is all hypothetical as far as I am concerned...wouldn't it be nice to be married here? translates into a proposal...what IS going on here?

You are leading her on. If you don't want to get married, break up with her. She is thinking you will change your mind. It sounds like marriage is important to her. The best thing you can do is break up with her.
