I know that definite articles are called "determiners" in linguistics. What is the technical term for indefinite articles?

Thanks, john. That is very logical and helpful.

All articles, the definite (the) and the indefinite (a, an) could be called "determiners." However, most grammar books will call them "special adjectives" rather than "determiners."
So, the "technical term" for articles would really be "articles."
By the way, I have a rather nice page I made giving rules for article usage if you're interested.
