I don't want to hide it; I want some people to read it, but not my relatives. I can't keep a paper diary or write the stuff on my computer and save it without accidentally sharing it with at least one family member.

It's for therapeutic purposes. Some people pay someone to be their friend, I pay someone online to hold my diaries for me.

Livejournal is the better known journal site, with a lot more features and a huge active community that you won't find on other journal sites.
I you take a username that people would not recognise then people will not be able to search for it, there are also options to post in 'friends only' so only those on your friends list can read the entry, 'select' so only specific groups of people on your friends list can read the entry or 'privet' so only you can read the entry.

you cqn go to yahoo 360 i have an account there its free ppl can read it but only ppl with a password and user name can get in so if its your parents your worried about each time you are done you sign out, this site is fun, you can make friends, journal or blog post pics make comments and a whole lot of other things i hear myspace.com is very easy for parents to get into and this site has no chat like myspace does so the privacy is much safer than myspace
