With the gradual decline of Communist governments in the world today, since the fall of the Soviet Union, do you think there might be another 'new' Communist government within the world soon? If so, what country do you think might be the 'next' new Communist government within the world, if probable?

I would think that the Himalayan country of Nepal might probably soon transition into a Communist government.

Given the foolishness of some of the home-grown answers here, I'd say it could easily end up being the United States.

Venezuela and Nepal are probably the best answers. One might argue that many Western European nations, staving off collapse due to over-taxation and under-population, are mere decades away from slipping from secular socialism into full-fledged communism. However, the rapid proliferation of Islamic populations throughout those countries will more than likely result in their slipping into Islamofacism before "communism" as we recognize it can fully take hold. Because China is limited in its pursuits beyond Nepal and perhaps Taiwan, look for the bulk of communistic expansion to stem from Hugo Chavez and the left-wing pseudo-democracies he is attempting to erect throughout South America and Central America as well as Mexico.

Another post makes reference to Venezuela, let me elaborate.

Hugo Chavez is the democratically elected president of Venezuela.

He believes in communism, at least that is what he says (nothing to prove otherwise).

He recently went on a trip around the world.

On that trip he visited:
1) Fidel Castro in Cuba (communist dictatorship)
2) Mahmoud Ahmenjida in Iran (i dont know how to spell his name...he was democratically elected)
3) Kim Jong Il in North Korea (a crazy communist mess)
4) Russia to buy weapons (he ended up purchasing helicopters and missiles)

China has characteristics of both capitalistism and communism.. which doesnt make sense

Venezuela has a lot of oil... just thought that might play a part in WW3

So communism does have some advocats around the world... and because it is hated by american capitalism so much, and so much of the world hates america... it gives a banner to many nations to unite under against the united states (just like oil has unified the islamic middle east against the united states)

Have you heard of Venezuela? They are now communist.
Did you know George Romero, the homosexual head of the ACLU is a communist? He wants to turn the US into a Communist country, believe it. Where do you think this PC stuff comes from.

Actually, what you've seen is not a decline in communism.

It's a decline in communist totalitarian regimes, that attempt to enforce that economic model through fascist authoritarian rules.

I don't think so. As much as I tend to agree with Marx (although that's socialism, not communism) communism rarely works, and often leads to tyranny by the state. We've learned too much from history.
