Americans have so much and take so many things for granted that they constantly need something that is going to top what they had previously to keep them happy. Like when they get bored with their phones with cameras, they got to get a phone with a camera and a video recorder, when that gets old, then they got to get a t.v. on their phone. When they get bored with 300 channels on their t.v.'s then they got to get 800. Americans even get bored with the way that they look. It's like "I've had this nose for 32 years, let me get a new one" The problem is is that Americans are just never satisfied.

That is perfectly true. It's everything I've saying to people for the past however-many years. If you look at other countries, impoverished people are content and happy with what they have. A lot of Americans have so much, and yet want more and aren't satisfied with what they have. Truly, being bored can suck.

Well Americans aren't the only people that have these things and we usually arent the ones always even inventing them. Plus regardless of what others may actually think. There is a lot of Americans who can't afford all of these luxeries just like in other countries we have poor people here and we also have people who don't feed into bigger is better theory. I've had my nose for 30 years have have no desire to change it, LOL.

That is what makes creative thinkers, inventors and great writers.
What if Bill Gates would have thought, gee we have enough cool stuff out there we don't need computers and Internet.
Or Edison with the telephone?
Or who ever with the first space ship that takes us to the first habitable planet. The adventurers who colonize it and make it there home. We are the inventors of the world.
With out that challenge we wouldn't even have cell phones.
Satellite dishes or even automobiles. Aren't horses fast enough?
Americans challenge the world and want to make it a better place.
Other countries challenge nothing and live under a repressive society that resists change. Which is better, free thinkers or being told what to believe, what to think, how to feel, what to believe in.

The media is so liberal, they do no longer desire anybody to think of that our being in Iraq might easily be a sturdy undertaking. it is why I watch FOX information, a minimum of I hear the countless sturdy it is happening. regrettably, many individuals are fairly ignorant and prefer to bounce on bandwagons, so i'm with you -- i think of that if the media might document on the abundance of sturdy issues that are happening, the common public's thought and opinion may well be very distinctive. From a grateful veteran, thank you lots on your militia provider...we want greater individuals such as you.

Most Americans are increasingly shallow and superficial , thats because they know whats wrong and refuse to do anything about it. And as long as they refuse to stand up for their country _ I mean the constitution not the immoral wars we always wage- they will get more and more shallow until a world dictatorship wipes them away completely from the shallowness of their roots.

Yes I think Americans are bored because we see in the media and all around us where people have more and are protrayed as "happy". We are brainwashed into thinking we can not be happy unless we have more.
However, I believe if you are happy with what you have then you will never want for more!

I agree - the key to happiness is being content with what you have. That's probably why so many people look miserable in the US

I think thats just progression. its good that people want to get new things, it keeps our economy strong. but the federal reserve makes our dollar worth nothing buy printing more and more with no backing. its getting tougher for people to get those things they want.

seeking bigger and better things has nothing to do with boredom it is simply a thirst for knowledge and progress that causes this behaviour
