line..u hav the points right?..there's this equation..
y-y1= m(x-x1) where x1 and y1 are the coordinates of the point on the line.. s'pose it's 3, 8 and the slope=1
y-8= -1(x-3)
y-8= -x+3
y= -x+11
therefore
y=mx+b
got your equation?

Let the line is passing through the point P on the y-Axis The distance from the origin to this point P will be equal to b. Then make an equation in y =mx +b

b= the y intercept which means wherever the line crosses the y-axis
m= is the slope => count up and hten across and that it will give you your slope
then just plug into the equation

you put the slope where the "m" is. leave the "y" and "x" blank. then where the "b" is you put the y intercept. the y intercept is where the line crosses the y-axis if x=0.
