I seem to have been born without a guilt gene! I just live my life with respect for those who deserve it and dont mind treading on the toes of those who piss me off! Boyfriends have been effortlessly two timed, collegues stepped on and friends dumped when they no longer fit with me!

I do have emotions but I see other people beating themselves up over mistakes they have made and in rubbish relationships because they dont want to hurt the other person.

So basically, living without conscience is really ok for me!

No, I don't think life would be better without emotions or conscience because emotions help us feel our world internally and our conscience keeps our emotions in check. Without a conscience our world would be full of sociopaths and we'd have total chaos. Everyoone needs some type of rules to prevent chaos and withou conscience or emotions our world could be totally different. If nobody had emotions then we might as well be robots. We'd all be alike and that would be pretty boring.

I would say that emotions define how we feel about reality. So having no emotions would be saying there are no feelings towards yourself or the outside world. Everything one would do would be purly for survival. This is because emotions drive us to do the things we find pleasure in and avoid those things that bring pain. Maybe no learning would exist as a result. Maybe?

I don't believe so. Emotions are pretty essential to our survival.

Imagine if people didn't feel the way they do about their children. They wouldn't care for them, would probably abandon them and the human race would not really last very long.

When you really think about it, every single emotion that we experience enables us to protect ourselves and ensure survival at the most basic level.

No, I don't think so, we would all be psychopaths, going around killing each other off, being pretty selfish about things, not giving a damn about who we hurt....Oh dear, that sounds like a lot of people around these days!
