get information from the adoption center where you "parents" adopted you. they will have everything on record. you can also go to the hospital where you were born to get your biological parents names.

A lot depends on whether or not you were a foreign adoption or now. Foreign adoptions are much harder but either way ask your adoptive parents what they know and contact the adoption agency.
I think the most important issue is respecting everybody's feelings involved. It's a sensitive topic for the woman who gave you up for adoption as well as your adoptive parents.
Good luck!

There should copies of the adoption papers/amended birth certificate, which would tell you where you were adopted from (agency, state, etc). Then I would contact that agency/state and see what they can tell you. There is a number on your amended birth certificate which correlates to a number on your original birth certificate. You will probably have to fill out paperwork stating why you are wanting this information and then hope that your birth family has filled out the same paperwork saying it is ok. If the birth family has made contact with the agency saying that he is wanting to be found, then the agency will make contact with you

It depends if your adoption was open or closed. I would ask my adoptive parents first. Then If you know the state the adoption took place in go to the Department of Health and Human Services and they should be able to direct you in the right path.

I was adopted. I had the same concerns you expressed here. I started at the hospital where I was born and went from there. It won't be easy but you can learn a few things along your search. Good luck! Hope you find nothing to be concerned over.

Contact the agency you were adopted through and ask for non-identifying details and any other information they might have.
