We would have created some other innovative form of mass communication, or evolved in another way.

The Internet is the worse thing ever. It makes things so much less social. Everyone is an avatar and you won't ever see any of these people on this Answer site. I can tell you all to F##k off with little consequence.

Back before the Internet, we had BBSs. We'll get on our 300 baud modems and call one of our local BBSs. We can chat, play games, and once a month, we'll all meet up in person for pizza. Plus everyone of us was a geek with a bag full of dice and face full of acne. There were no cool people hanging out on BBSs.

I think the internet lets us read news that is not given to us by the mass media(tv, radio). We are living in the age of information and as a result i believe people are a lot smarter on a global level. If there were no internet the people would have to believe whatever the tv of radio says, because there would be no independent sources of information, which would rest uneasy with me.

I would probably be a lot less informed about the world. You can get the different views of different places in their own words and not the words of your nation or country only. I think the net has made knowledge easier to access and the world would not be as well informed as they are now.
