Keep any eye out on www.slickdeals.net and the forums section of www.fatwallet.com I assure you, you will find the deal no one can match :) Atleast for the time it is posted there. It has worked for me for years I buy all my tech gear from following the links there. Members share some amazing deals with the rest of the community on those websites.

Lenovo makes some well rated laptops, often at a better price / performance ratio than some of the better known manufacturers like the ones you listed. Here are a few examples with the new Duo Core processors, but they have less expensive models as well:

From personal experience, Compaq laptops are also good, but maybe not as good for performace versus price.
Going with a lesser known manufacturer, as long as you have good references / reviews on quality, performance, etc... will often save you money as you are not paying as much for the "name" versus the actual system and can get more for your money.
Also from personal experience, I would avoid Acer even thought they are often on sale at low prices. One of my offices bought some because of the low prices and have had many issues with them.

Not all of them are very good, rebates are offten issue after completion of the loan pay off. And they have deals on the lowest base laptop, and you'll probably want to upgrade it. Which will mark up the price.

Try Time Computers. I know the reputation is a bit ragged, but I'm on my second from Time and am well pleased with the spec and performance for the money I paid.
