1973: After their solid season, which included a playoff appearance the Browns got off to a solid start, winning 3 of their first 4 games on the way to a 7-3-1 start. However, the Browns would not win another game the rest of the season and settled for 3rd place with a 7-5-2 record.

The Browns won 7 games, lost 5 and tied 2. (Ties were more common then because there was no overtime in regular season play)
