Two main reasons; 1. There ARE babies there to adopt. 2. No one wants the little girl babies born in China. BTW if you are a doctoral candidate, you need to take an English class.

I believe for various reasons. The first reason is because families in China are only allowed to have one child, and for the culture and I believe religion they prefer boys. So most families will give up thier baby girl in order to try have to have a boy. Most children that are adopted from China are girls.

Because some Americans are just plain cheap.
Example: Tom & Betty frequent Denny's restaurant. Lately, things have been kind of tight. They'd like to save money by ordering from the 'Children's Menu,' but they can't, they don't have a child. Ah, but wait, Tom has an idea. He and Betty were watching an infomercial the other night...it was Ron Popeil pitching his all-new $19.99 'Adopt-A-Kid-From-China' kit.
They bought the kit, adopted a child, and saved a ton of money at Denny's. Problem solved. Pass the chicken nuggets please.

It seems they do it because it is trendy. They use the child as a little show off toy, "look how good we are, we adopted a chinese baby!" People should have to adopt the kids in their own country first. There are hundreds of thousands that are looking for families.

Because of the child limit that China has. It makes people feel good that they are taking unwanted children and giving them a home.

easier, quicker and less bullsh*t. My ex boss (lesbian) and her mate have adopted a child from china and 2 years later another one from Ethiopia. THey wouldnt do it any other way. I have a co worker here (married heterosexual) who is getting a baby from Cambodia in October.

because people feel good when they adopt children from a third world country. its like they did a good deed. but there are orphans in america that they choose to ignore.
