My friend and I want to run for the same office for our grade's officers this year. Vice President to be exact. We haven't talked about it much but I really want to think about it before the time to elect comes. She is one of my Best Friends and I don't want answers like "if she gets mad then she's not your freind" and all that. I want to know how I can avoid a fight. I really want this office and I am not about to give it up. It's a big responsibility and I think that I can do it. Last year we had a V.P that didn't help hardly at all and I don't want that to happen again (not sayin that my BFF is not responsible). I really need help!!! Please!!!

School offices seriously don't matter. They don't do anything! It's just a popularity contest. So run against your friend, see who is more popular and the loser can get all sad. Or run for a different office. Vice president = lame. Go be the president. Or save yourself the touble and go worry about something more important.

just sit down and talk it over i mean instead of fighting against each other help each other, like help her with her campain and she helps u with urs.... and whoever wins the other can be sure they had sumthing to do with it. besides things like these shouldnt break up a great friendship... but for the mad part go ahead the person has a right to ,, we are human just let her blow off steam.

You and your friend need to have a heart to heart discussion.
Since you both want to pursue the same office, then I suggest you both be honest with each other...start campaigning...and wish each other luck........and mean it. There's no reason you cant remain friends. Please remember to keep your campaign clean. Do NOT attack one another! Best of luck to you both!
