Who said America is the great Satan? Is it?

You would not believe what I just forund for you. This is so stupid it is funny:

Khomeini is quoted as saying on November 5, 1979, "[Americans] are the great Satan, the wounded snake." During and after the Iranian Revolution similar appellations (to "The Great Satan") were used for the Western World and to a lesser extent the Soviet Union, which was labeled as the Small Satan. Israel is these days sometimes depicted as "The Little Satan".

I believe that Pops is right, it was first said publicly by Ayatollah Khomeini who tricked Jimmy Carter into handing Iran over to him on a silver plate

BTW, here is one of Khomeini's little gems:

As to whether he was correct? The answer has to be: 'of course not'. How can you claim that a whole continent is Satan, when there is evil, as well as good, on every continent. Every culture has its own idea of who the great Satan is.

I think listing all those who have not called us the great satan or some other such name would make for a shorter list.

We're not of course, any such thing. We are the good guys despite the venom and vitriol heaped on us. (sticks and stones...)

The millions of Christians, Jews and Muslims who live together peacefully in this country is all the proof I require to believe that our way of life is superior to anything offered me by those who diss my country.

Some people believe America is evil, but I've never heard the name Satan given to it.

There are many reasons why people believe America's evil (like bombing Iraq, Afganhistan, if youreally want to get a leader of the country send in spies, also supporting Israil who bombed Lebonan also not removing your soldiers from the countries you've been to war with and give a big deal when 3 soldiers die (Soldiers are meant to die, they haveto know they will die if they go to war or stay in others terroritory)... and other reasons like that)

bearing the reasons I've given above (maybe people with family and friends in Iraq etc) may get angry at that and call America satan

iran first called america the great satan in its policy statements,in the koran satan is called eblis and is considered to be the enemy of god.this might tie in.hope this helps.

America is a terrorist country and have caused do much agony to alots of poor people.instead of the money the spend in wares they can help alot of poor people in Africa and central America but they wont. so yes its the great satan
