And how bad is the cursing. seriously. i was just on this website thats supposed to give you reasons for why a movie is rated what it is. It said 100+ f words. Was the f word really said that much? I mean geez you'd pretty much have to say that word in every other sentence for that to be true.
Anyways yay or nay for "Donnie Brasco"?

YAY! 10 outtta 10! Four Stars! Watch this movie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Great film covering the real life exploits of Joeseph D. Pistone aka
Donnie Brasco and his 6 years infiltrating the Bonnano Crime Family. Johnny Depp is great in this film, his portrayal of the dual nature of Pistone's/Brasco's character is really haunting, knowing that he's an FBI agent but, still feeling the power and pull of the mob, his loyalty towards Pacino's character Benjamin "Lefty Guns" Ruggiero, knowing that he has to turn him over to the feds at some point and that his life in the mob is running on borrowed time. Brasco's relationship with his real life family gets complicated too, just watch the film....
Pacino? he's top notch in this one, who better to play an aging gangster than an actor that's made the better part of his career playing them. Lefty is a great character, nothing like Scarface or Michael Corleone and, because of the source material that they are working from it's probably the truest portrayal of an american gangster thus far.
The F-bomb, Oh yeah it gets dropped alot but hey, they're mobsters from Jersey, what did you expect?
Plenty of action in this one, guys getting rubbed out, drugs, money, gambling, the whole bit, classic mob flick stylings with a new twist.
YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The movie was good, but I did not buy it because of the language.
It was based on the true story of an undercover FBI agent that actually penetrated the mafia. This agent was so good that he was about to become a "made" member. Even though the movie made some "creative" rewrites, it is still fairly accurate.

I love the premise of the movie but, again, due to the language, I have only watched it 2 or 3 times.

I loved Donnie Brasco. Great character studies of both Al Pacino and Johnny Depp's characters. To me, it speaks more to the relationship of those two than the gangster aspect of the movie.

A tenative yay. It was entertaining without being outstanding. Johnny Depp is fun to watch as an undercover agent, and you do get pretty pulled into his story. Al Pacino is, well, Al Pacino. And where Al Pacino goes, bad language follows. So, I liked it, but there are better gangster films out there.

I thought it was a great movie. It is based on a true story, which really makes it amazing. Johnny Depp is amazing.

And, yes, there is a lot of swearing...but, it makes sense in the context.

A VERY good movie... I barely even noticed the cursing, but then again you must take into account the subject matter.

Great flick! Reminds me of home. The language is that of the street, nothing out of the ordinary.
