You may not be able to. My youngest didn't sleep through the night until she was over a year. And that's with only one two hour nap a day. She only sleeps a max of 8 hours. My eldest slept for 12 hours at a time and would take a 2 - 1 hour naps at the same age. And she slept through the night at 7 months.
Each child is different.

My son was the same way. He turned 10 mo on Monday & has been sleeping through the night for about a week. My ped suggested dropping his nighttime bottles by one ounce every two nights. That helped some because the nighttime bottle at this age is a want & not a need. I also let him fuss for longer periods of time. I realized that if I didn't go to him right away, he would only whimper for two minutes or so & go back to sleep. I couldn't let him learn to soothe himself before. After about two weeks, he started sleeping from 9 pm until 7 am. What a relief! Good luck!

I actual have a 5 month and 3 a million/2 week previous woman offspring. I decrease her naps to 3 one hour naps an afternoon and all till now 5pm. in case you enable her sleep previous 5 then she would be able to no longer be particularly drained for bedtime. I bathe her at 8:30p.m. with the bedtime shampoo and physique wash and use the betime lotion on her afterwards. (I rub down her heels because of the fact this is meant to take a seat down back them...i'm no longer an expert nonetheless) then I provide her a bottle with some rice cereal in it. She is going to sleep at 9:30p.m. and does not awaken till 6 or 7 interior the morning. I do wish that some thing works out for you, i understand what this is opt to ought to stand up distinctive cases for the time of the nighttime. consequently I made this schedule for my daughter. good success.

By daughter is also 6 months. She sleeps from 2am to 6am she will fuss a little in between but I just give her a binkie and she falls back asleep. I feed her the most right before bedtime, to make sure she sleeps longer cause she'll have a full belly. Also, if she takes to long or to many naps during the day she wont want to sleep at night. Goodluck. :)

I am so sorry. This is not a regular happening for a sixth month old. Have you tried talking to your doctor? She should sleep more than five hours overnight by this age. If this is a newer thing she could be teething. My son was sleeping through the night and now wakes up because his gums hurt. Definately talk to her doctor about this- he/she could have some good advice. Hang in there, she can't do it forever!

Why is she waking up in the middle of the night? Hungry? Not tired? those kinds of things. If she's hungry, make sure to feed her right before bed time, try keeping her up a little longer than usual too, IF she wakes up because she's not tired, and she's not crying, let her lay in the crib, she may just fall asleep. babies wake up in the middle of the night and just need to release some energy and typically fall back asleep. If you havn't started on rice cereal start that, the bottle isn't satisfying her. she just may not be eating enough through out the day, so she's hungry at night.

Again keep her more active in the day, at around 7pm or whenever you want her bed time to be, give her a long long soak in the bath get her all wrapped up snug give her the last evening feed, put her to bed if still awake talk to her very quitely untill she nods off. I do this with my 3 month yr old and it works every time she sleeps 10 hours a night, Try stroking her nose downwards repeat this untill her eyes close

Try making her stay up more during the day...maybe one nap in the afternoon and playtime for the rest of the day...try a binky(pacifier) at night when u put her down. Some babies take longer than others to get a routine down. Just keep doing the same thing everyday and she will get used to it eventually.. most are pretty quick to adjust. hope this helps. :-)

My baby is six months also and she's not sleeping either. I'm thinking it's her teeth. I think since she was born she only slept one night all night. It's exhausting especially when you have to work full time. Good luck cuz I've tried everything. I did notice if you give them some outside air it helps them. My baby gets up around 3AM every night. It's so frustrating and it's killing me.
