Yes, in fact I recently read about a woman who ran a marathon while 8-1/2 months pregnant, and Teresa Cooper of Survivor 3 once ran a marathon while 9 months pregnant. These are extreme examples and I'm certainly not suggesting you go that far, but this contradicts those who think jogging while pregnant is not possible.

You don't want to go beyond your previous conditioning or overdo it, but there are lots of examples of women jogging while pregant, including some referenced in the websites I listed below.

The 1st link below is of a great website you should check out for details on how to go about jogging while pregnant if you're interested in doing so.

The 2nd link has historical information and study data on the subject.

The 3rd link gives specific information on exercising while pregnant.

And by the way, you still should get with your doctor or gynecologist about this no matter what you read in the linked articles or any of these posts!

No, but I ran in a three-legged race at a picnic when I was 6 months pregnant. And wouldn't you know that I'd fall! Man, that hurt - but we won. Next day I was so sore I had to go see my obgyn because I was afraid I'd hurt the baby - but he told me that the baby is very well protected by the amniotic sac. He also told me that I had no business running. I REALLY don't think jogging would be good. Lots of walking is good.

I did during the first few months. But then the bouncing got to be too much, especially for my bladder! The doctor told me you can do whatever you're used to doing. In other words, don't take up jogging after you're pregnant if you never did it before.

I talked to my OBGYN about this subject and she suggested I take it really easy with jogging. She said it would be okay for the first trimester, but when I started showing to lay off the jogging and just brisk walking. She said light weights would be okay for the first trimester too, but nothing heavier than twenty pounds.
She said if I stayed active and ate right, I shouldn't worry about weight gain or my body "snapping back" after preg. Her quote "If you were in shape before preg. you'll be in good shape after, if you do regular daily exercise that isn't too strenuous".
but you should definitely check with your doctor. Congrats by the way!

Despite being five months pregnant, Britain’s Paula Radcliffe finished 23rd in 18:51, exactly four minutes outside her 2003 course record at a recent 5000m London marathon.

Yeah. Some women even compete at full term. As long as you did it before you were pregnant, and as long as you're healthy, you can keep doing it clear though.

Although it will wreck havock on your joints. But so long as your doctor says you're prgressing fine then theres no reason not to.

If you were not an advid jogger before you were pregnant, dont start now. walk instead.

yes, but ask your dr....Have you jogged before the pregnancy or is this something new?

If you have--it should be fine.
