There are a lot of differences. One is that most grasshoppers can "fly" and crickets can not. Crickets are also nocturnal, grasshoppers come out in the day. They also have different anatomy, habitats, and food sources. I don't honestly feel like going into it all right now, because I should be doing chemistry homework, but yeah. Try a wikipedia search on both if you really want to know:)

"Oooo, you asked a question dear to my heart! There are a few. For one crickets are mostly nocturnal (active at night) and grasshoppers are diurnal (active in the day). Because of this, crickets use their song to communicate in order to find females and warn off other males. Grasshoppers call in the day also but tend to be located high in the vegetation to see and be seen by other grasshoppers. So grasshopper have really good eyes.
Grasshoppers blend into the grass, but they also often have brightly colored under wings that they flash when they make short flights from place to place and also make noise when they do this. Crickets then to be dark to blend into the shadows or are pale green or brown to blend into the vegetation. So the time of activity and the method of communications is the answer. Other
differences are anatomical (body differences) and taxonomic (insect classification) more information can be found under cricket links:"
