In today's rate of exchange, is it actually worth only around 640 words?

Yes, but depending on the picture, anywhere from 991-997 of those words are all "pharfignewton."

I would opt for telepathy, being able to deliver an entire concept in an instant to another person without the hinderance of words - but a picture would be a close second until we figure out the telepathy thing.


p.s. I don't know about words; but the right (or wrong) picture could be worth some bucks depending on who the dirt was on.

Depends on the picture and the words and what value they are to you. Warning: Pictures or words worth little today may be worth much more (or less) tomorrow!

Accually I think the picture is worth more due to digital photography, and the words are worth less due to poor usage and internet abbreviations. I would say the picture is worth around 1250 words.
